We've chosen some of the most popular beading books and each month, we'd like you to join us in choosing a project from that book - perhaps one that you’ve always had your eye on - to make along with us! We’ve tried hard to choose books with a variety of projects so that no matter what your interests, skill level or budget there should be something for you!
When Do We Find Out Which Book We're Using?
On the 7th of each month, we’ll reveal the name of the beading book that we’ll be working from over the next month. We’ll link to existing book reviews and projects that have been made from, or inspired by, the book. You’ll then have two months to blow the cobwebs off your own copy, sort through your beadstash and work on a project from the current book.
What Can I Make?
You can choose any project from within the current book and you’re welcome to make that project ‘as is’ or make your own adjustments - whether that be to colour, beads or the basic pattern. We do not want to limit you, we want to encourage you. That means that if you are inspired to take a project in a new direction you should!
How Do I Share My Finished Project?
Surely the best thing about finishing a project is sharing it with other people? We all love to have our work oohed and ahhed over, right? On the 6th of each month, we'll reveal the projects made from our current choice, before moving on to work from another book.
To make it easier for everyone to show off their finished pieces, we'll be accepting 'entries' in two ways.
- On Your Own Blog: Create your own blog post sharing your thoughts on the current book, the pattern you followed (or were inspired by) and, of course, photographs of your finished project. Schedule your blog post to publish on the reveal date and then visit Operation Tackle That Beadstash to leave us a link to your blog post, so that we can all stop by for a visit.
- On Our Blog: If you don't have your own blog, that's not a problem. You can send us a photograph of your finished project and a little write up about the current book and we'll feature it here, on our blog instead! Send entries to email@example.com by 11am (GMT) on the 5th, so that we have time to include them before the reveal on the 6th!
